Dr. Matt Green has helped Oakland patients recover from back pain and sciatica for more than two decades, without relying on drugs or surgery.

What Causes Back Pain and Sciatica?

Sciatica, degenerative disc changes, scoliosis, and everyday strains and sprains are among the most common causes of back pain we see. Care is built around your specific pattern of pain, using gentle adjustments and soft tissue work aimed at getting you moving again.

We welcome patients from Montclair Village, Piedmont, Rockridge, and throughout Oakland.

Hurt in a Car Accident?

What is sciatica, and can chiropractic care help?

Sciatica is pain that travels from your low back down through your leg, often caused by pressure on a nerve. Many of our patients find real relief through gentle adjustments and soft tissue work aimed at easing that pressure.

I have a degenerative disc. Is it too late for chiropractic care to help?

Not at all. Chiropractic care won't reverse disc degeneration, but it can meaningfully reduce the pain and stiffness that come with it, and help you move more comfortably day to day.

Do I have to get X-rays before treatment for back pain?

Not usually. Dr. Green will let you know if imaging would genuinely change your care plan, but most back pain patients begin treatment without needing X-rays first.

How long are appointments, and what happens during a visit?

The first visit is 45 min, the second visit is 30 min, and recurring visits are 15 min. A typical visit starts with a conversation about how you're feeling, followed by a hands on exam and treatment tailored to what your back needs that day.

I was in a car accident and now I have back pain. Can you help?

Yes. We treat auto accident related back injuries regularly, with or without an attorney involved. Visit our Auto Accident Chiropractor page to learn more.

What are your rates, and do you accept Medicare?

We welcome out of pocket patients and Medicare. Call us at 510-200-9000 to talk through pricing for your care.
